BPAG Accountants is an accounting and advisory firm for Australian business owners and their families. We keep the books, lodgements and tax returns right, and we advise on the decisions that matter: tax, cash flow, structures, asset protection, super and succession.
Numbers should help you make decisions, not just file them. That's the gap BPAG was built to close.
Who are we?
We started in Sydney as Proactive Business Services and grew by joining forces with three local firms that shared the same view of what an accountant should be:
| Office | Formerly | Address | Phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sydney (head office) | Proactive Business Services | Suite 4, Level 1, 131 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000 | (02) 9948 5521 |
| Melbourne | CP Partners | Level 1, 19 Janefield Drive, Bundoora VIC 3083 | (03) 9408 6555 |
| Canberra region | Palacc | Shop 2, 28 Malbon Street, Bungendore NSW 2621 | (02) 6164 2008 |
| Adelaide | PBS Accountants & Advisers | 685 South Road, Black Forest SA 5035 | (08) 8351 0510 |
Clients still ring the office they've always rung and deal with the people they've always dealt with. What changed is what sits behind them: specialists in SMSF, structuring, asset protection and fractional CFO work, one set of systems, and a team that keeps your work moving when someone is on leave.
We work with thousands of clients across all four offices and the rest of Australia. Most of that work happens over email, phone and video, so where you live matters far less than it used to.
What do we do?
Most clients come to us for compliance and stay for the advice.
- Compliance. Bookkeeping in Xero, BAS and GST, payroll and Payday Super, company, trust and individual tax returns, ASIC, FBT and financial statements. Done on time, every time, with one client manager who knows your file.
- Advisory. Tax planning before 30 June, fractional CFO support, cash flow, capital gains tax, and help when you buy or sell a business.
- Structures and protection. Business structuring and asset protection, family trusts, restructures, and succession and estate planning, coordinated with your solicitor.
- Super. SMSF accounts, returns and audit coordination, with compliance watched all year.
We are moving our firm deliberately toward advice: structures, asset protection and planning ahead of the 30 June 2027 tax changes. We still handle the compliance work properly, because good advice starts with accurate numbers.
What makes us different?
Most firms do one of three things well. They keep your books, or they sit at the strategy table, or they understand the quirks of your industry. We do all three in one engagement: books kept current in Xero, reporting you can read, and advice built around the way your business actually runs.
The aim isn't to send you reports. It's to give you the clarity to make a decision on a Tuesday afternoon, not at the end of the quarter.
We're AI-native
BPAG works exclusively on Nagaris, the practice platform built for Australian accounting firms. It has more than 80 built-in specialist skills, which we call AI agents, for Australian tax, super, state taxes, BAS, payroll and client letters. They were tested on real client work at our own firm, and in one two-week period 54 of our people used them nearly 2,000 times.
The agents draft. A qualified accountant reviews and signs off. Nothing goes to you or to the ATO without a person approving it. Client data is stored in Australia on AWS Sydney servers, and Nagaris is ISO 27001 certified. Read how AI-native accounting works at BPAG.
We're qualified, registered and accountable
- BPAG Accountants is a registered tax agent with the Tax Practitioners Board. You can check our registration on the TPB public register.
- Our accountants are a mix of Chartered Accountants and CPA-qualified accountants.
- We are bound by the Code of Professional Conduct under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009. Our regulatory disclosures are published and kept current.
- Since 1 July 2026 we also meet the anti-money laundering rules for accountants. Here's what that means for you.
We know where our job ends. Legal documents such as trust deeds, wills and binding death benefit nominations are prepared by a solicitor, and recommendations about financial products, including whether to start an SMSF, come from a licensed financial adviser. We work alongside both so you have one coordinated plan.
What guides us?
Our purpose: to be the trusted partner that turns ambition into lasting success, in business, wealth, life and family.
Our mission: every day, we combine intelligent technology with genuine human insight to guide clients beyond compliance and into lasting success.
Our vision: to be recognised as Australia's benchmark for the future of accounting advisory, defining where the profession is going, not where it has been.
Two sets of principles carry the daily work.
| FIT: how we work | HERE: how we treat people |
|---|---|
| Forward horizon. Anticipating tomorrow's opportunities today. | Harmony first. Balance across business, wealth and life. |
| Integrity, always. Unwavering honesty in every interaction. | Energy that lifts. Positivity that lifts everyone around us. |
| Technology as leverage. Using innovation to amplify results. | Relationships over transactions. People before numbers, always. |
| Every voice matters. Inclusive, heard and valued, every time. |

How do we start working together?
- Free strategy call. We look at where you are and what's worth doing. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
- One engagement, one price. Your whole family group (companies, trusts, SMSF, individuals) on one engagement, priced before we start, signed on your phone.
- We handle the handover. We contact your previous accountant, take over the ATO and ASIC agent links, and get access to your Xero.
- We get to work. Your books are brought current, your deadlines are on our list, and your first planning conversation is booked.

Frequently asked questions
Where are BPAG Accountants' offices?
Sydney CBD (head office), Bundoora in Melbourne, Bungendore near Canberra, and Black Forest in Adelaide. We work with clients across Australia, mostly by email, phone and video.
Are you registered tax agents?
Yes. BPAG Accountants is registered with the Tax Practitioners Board, and you can verify it on the TPB public register. Our team is a mix of Chartered Accountants and CPA-qualified accountants.
Does AI do my tax return?
AI agents draft and check parts of the work, such as coding transactions, testing a BAS or calculating a Division 7A repayment. A qualified accountant reviews everything and signs it off before it reaches you or the ATO.
Do you give financial or legal advice?
We give accounting, tax and structuring advice. Legal documents are prepared by a solicitor, and financial product recommendations, such as whether to set up an SMSF, come from a licensed financial adviser. We coordinate with both.
General information only, current as at 18 October 2026. It is not personal tax, legal or financial product advice and doesn't take your circumstances into account. Talk to us before you act. Where a recommendation needs a licensed financial adviser or a solicitor, we work alongside them.
