What's inside the 42-page roadmap
The roadmap follows the year in nine stages, each with a plain-English explanation, a worked example, the watch-outs and a question to ask your accountant.
| Stage | The question it answers |
|---|---|
| 1. Your 12-month tax calendar | What's due, and when, from now to August 2027? |
| 2. Structure | Am I trading through the right entity for my size and risk? |
| 3. Paying yourself | Wages, dividends, trust distributions or loans: what are the rules for each? |
| 4. Deductions and timing | Am I claiming what I'm entitled to, in the right year? |
| 5. Cash flow and the ATO | How do I stop tax bills becoming a cash crisis? |
| 6. Staff, contractors and super | Am I getting Payday Super, payroll tax and contractors right? |
| 7. Your industry | Which rules matter in my industry? |
| 8. Super and protecting what you build | How do I build wealth outside the business and keep it safe? |
| 9. The 2027 changes and selling | What changes on 1 July 2027 and what does it mean for a future sale? |
Plus a 30 June 2027 checklist, a table of what the ATO is watching, and what a custom roadmap with BPAG looks like.
Who it's for
Owner-run businesses turning over about $500,000 or more, in any industry: builders and trades, hospitality, medical and allied health, legal and professional services, IT, real estate, retail and ecommerce, importing, manufacturing, transport, NDIS providers, primary producers, franchisees and property investors.
Why we wrote it
Most business owners only hear about tax at lodgement time, when it's too late to change the result. The roadmap puts the whole year on a page so you can plan ahead, with every figure checked against the ATO, Treasury and state revenue offices as at 3 November 2026. It's general information, not advice for your circumstances.
Want your own roadmap?
The guide is general. Your roadmap should be specific: your structure, your numbers, your plans to grow or sell. On a free strategy call a BPAG partner looks at where you are and tells you what's worth doing before 30 June 2027, with a fixed price agreed before any work starts.
