Every service below is delivered by the same team, on the same platform, against the same client file. That matters more than it sounds. When the person preparing your BAS can see the tax plan, and the person giving structuring advice can see your actual numbers, problems get caught early and advice is based on fact, not guesswork.
We've grouped the services the way most clients think about them: getting the compliance right, using the numbers to make better decisions, protecting what you own, and dealing with the ATO.
What compliance services do we provide?
This is the work that has to happen every month, quarter and year. Done well, nobody notices. Done badly, it leads to penalties, a stressful June and decisions made on stale numbers.
- Accounting and bookkeeping. The full compliance package for a business: books, BAS, payroll, year-end accounts and tax returns, run by one dedicated client manager.
- Xero bookkeeping. Books reconciled and categorised daily, bills processed, and the file kept clean enough to make decisions from at any time.
- BAS and GST. BAS prepared and checked before lodgement, with every figure traced back to the transactions behind it, including fuel tax credits where they apply.
- Payroll and Payday Super. Weekly or fortnightly pays, single touch payroll and super paid on time under the Payday Super rules that started on 1 July 2026.
- Tax returns, BAS, payroll and ASIC. The annual and periodic lodgements for your whole group handled in one place, so nothing falls between entities.
- Company tax returns. Company returns with the issues that get missed handled properly: franking, Division 7A loans and base rate entity status.
- Trust tax returns. Trust returns plus the distribution resolution before 30 June, checked against the deed and the ATO's section 100A guidance.
- Individual tax returns. Returns for business owners and individuals with investments: rental properties, shares, crypto and foreign income.
- ASIC and company secretarial. Annual reviews, officeholder and share changes, and the company registers kept up to date.
- FBT returns. Fringe benefits tax returns for cars, electric vehicles, entertainment and other benefits, with exemptions applied where they're available.
- Financial statements. Annual financial statements for banks, lenders, landlords and your own records, prepared from reconciled books.
- Xero setup and migration. Moving from MYOB, spreadsheets or a messy Xero file to a clean setup, with history converted and bank feeds connected.
What advisory services do we provide?
Compliance tells you what happened. Advisory uses those numbers to change what happens next. These services suit owners who want more profit, less tax, or a plan for a big decision.
- Tax strategy and planning. A tax plan before 30 June each year, based on your real numbers, covering timing, structures, super and the 2027 CGT changes.
- Fractional CFO and advisory. A monthly strategy meeting, forecasts, KPIs and benchmarking for businesses that need CFO thinking without a full-time CFO.
- Cash flow and profit optimisation. Finding where cash gets stuck and profit leaks, then fixing pricing, debtors, stock and costs.
- Capital gains tax advice. CGT worked out properly before you sell: discounts, small business concessions, main residence rules, and the changes from 1 July 2027.
- Buying a business. Financial and tax due diligence before you sign, with a red-flag register and a view on price and structure.
- Selling a business. Exit planning a year or more out, so the structure, timing and concessions give you the best after-tax result.
- State taxes. Payroll tax, land tax and stamp duty across every state and territory, including grouping, exemptions and surcharges.
What structuring and protection services do we provide?
Most owners pick a structure on the day they get an ABN and never look at it again. These services make sure the way you own things still suits your income, risk and family.
- Business structuring and asset protection. The full review: map your entities and risks, model the options, and coordinate the legal work with your solicitor.
- Asset protection. Separating what you risk in business from what you keep, so one lawsuit or failed venture is far less likely to take everything.
- Business structures. Advice on starting as a sole trader, company, trust or partnership, and setting it up properly.
- Family trusts. Family trust setup, elections and the annual distribution work, with the proposed 2028 trust tax modelled (it is a Bill, not law).
- Business restructuring. Moving a business or assets into a better structure using the CGT rollovers and concessions available.
- Succession and estate planning. Passing on the business and family wealth, including control of trusts, companies and super, with your solicitor preparing the documents.
- SMSF returns and audits. SMSF financial statements, member statements and annual returns, with the independent audit coordinated through an approved SMSF auditor.
What help do we give when the ATO is involved?
Problems with the ATO get more expensive the longer they're left. These services are about getting back on track and staying there.
- Overdue tax returns and ATO debt. Catching up on unlodged returns and BAS, then negotiating payment plans and penalty remission where it's justified.
- ATO audits and disputes. Representation through reviews, audits and objections, with responses prepared from the records and the law.
- Employment and award compliance. Checking every employee's pay against the award, quantifying any back pay and super, and fixing the payroll setup so it doesn't happen again.
Which service do you actually need?
Most people arrive with a problem, not a service name. Here's how the common ones map.
| Your situation | Start with |
|---|---|
| Books are behind and BAS is always late | Xero bookkeeping and BAS and GST |
| Haven't lodged for a year or more | Overdue tax returns and ATO debt |
| Profitable but cash is always tight | Cash flow and profit optimisation |
| Paying more tax each year and not sure why | Tax strategy and planning |
| Own property or shares in your own name and run a business | Asset protection |
| Thinking of selling within three years | Selling a business |
| Hiring your first staff, or worried about award rates | Payroll and Payday Super and employment and award compliance |
| Received an ATO audit or review letter | ATO audits and disputes |
| Running an SMSF | SMSF returns and audits |
If none of those fits, book the call and describe it in your own words.
How are the services priced?
Ongoing work sits on a fixed weekly plan, all prices plus GST:
| Plan | From | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Compliance Essentials | $149 per week | Dedicated client manager, bookkeeping up to 100 transactions a month, BAS lodgements, company tax return, annual financial statements |
| Business Insights | $249 per week | Everything above, plus weekly payroll for up to 10 staff, monthly management reports, and KPI and performance analysis |
| Fractional CFO | $499 per week | Everything above, plus a monthly CFO strategy meeting, strategic cash flow forecasting, proactive annual tax planning, and annual industry benchmarking |
Project work such as restructures, business purchases, catch-up lodgements and audit support is quoted as a fixed fee before we start. Full details are on our pricing page.
An honest note: if you're an employee with one rental property, or a sole trader with simple books and no staff, you may not need a plan at all. A single tax return, or good software and an annual check-in, may be all it takes.
How does BPAG deliver these services?
BPAG is an AI-native accounting firm. All our work runs on Nagaris, a practice platform built for Australian accounting firms, with more than 80 built-in AI agents for Australian tax, super, state taxes, BAS, employment and client letters. Our accountants are a mix of Chartered Accountants and CPA-qualified accountants, and we're a registered tax agent with the Tax Practitioners Board.
What that means for you:
- Agents draft, accountants decide. An agent prepares the first version; a qualified accountant reviews and signs it off. Every change and every email waits for a person's approval.
- No portal passwords. Questions arrive by SMS or email, and you can answer from your phone and upload photos of documents.
- One engagement for the whole family group. Companies, trusts, SMSFs and individuals signed once, not entity by entity.
- Nothing lost when someone's away. The whole team can see your file, and meetings and calls are written up.
- Data stored in Australia on AWS Sydney servers; Nagaris is ISO 27001 certified, and every action is timestamped.

What don't we do?
We don't audit SMSFs or real estate and legal trust accounts ourselves; independent auditors do that, and we coordinate with them. We don't prepare legal documents or give financial product advice; a solicitor and a licensed financial adviser do, and we work alongside them. Everything else on this page, we do ourselves.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with businesses outside your four office locations?
Yes. We have offices in Sydney, Melbourne (Bundoora), the Canberra region (Bungendore) and Adelaide, and we work with clients Australia-wide. Most work happens by email, phone and video, and documents can be sent as photos from your phone.
Are your prices fixed?
Our ongoing plans are fixed weekly prices, starting from $149 per week plus GST for Compliance Essentials. One-off advice, such as a restructure or a business purchase review, is quoted as a fixed fee before we start. You won't get an invoice you didn't expect.
Can I use just one service, like a tax return?
Yes, although most business clients get better value from a plan because the bookkeeping, BAS and year-end work are done by the same team. For a single tax return or one piece of advice, we quote it on its own.
Who actually does the work, a person or AI?
Both, in a set order. Our AI agents draft the first version of work such as BAS workpapers, calculations and letters. A qualified accountant reviews it, corrects anything that's wrong and signs it off. Nothing reaches you or the ATO without a person approving it.
Can you take over from my current accountant mid-year?
Yes. With your permission we request your records and prior-year files from your current accountant, check the open items such as lodgements due and ATO balances, and take over from there. Changing mid-year is common and doesn't need to wait for 30 June.
Do you give financial or legal advice?
We give accounting, tax and structuring advice. Legal documents such as trust deeds, wills and agreements are prepared by a solicitor, and financial product advice, such as whether to set up an SMSF, comes from a licensed financial adviser. We brief and work alongside both.
